STYLIST CRUSH: AMY MERRICK

Amy Merrick is a floral designer, writer and stylist based in Brooklyn, New York. I discovered Amy's work years ago via Ginny Branch's former blog, My Favorite Color is Shiny. Now both girls are working as successful prop stylists with gorgeous portfolios. Tomorrow I'll showcase some of Ginny's work, but today let's gush over Amy! The images below were styled by Amy for Kinfolk and Rifle Paper Co. Make sure you visit her beautiful website and blog for more images and information.

OBSESSED: NICK KNIGHT

Photographer Nick Knight is known for shooting high-fashion photos for publications like Vogue, i-D and W magazine. He's also shot ads for Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent and Alexander Mcqueen. These photographs were based on paintings from the Baroque period which he then manipulated by exposing them to heat, water and chemical treatments during the printing process. In other words, NO PHOTOSHOP. Bow down.

COVER GIRL

Our girl RiRi covers the march issue of Vogue. In the article she claims to buy all of her jewelry at Claire's, which is totally amazing. I like the cover and editorial, but nothing tops her Vogue debut in April 2011. This cover (below), shot by Annie Leibovitz, features Rihanna in Chanel pre-fall 2011.

The debut cover was shot the same year she wore this AMAZING Jean Paul Gaultier dress to the 2011 Grammy Awards.

I'm obsessed with this Saint Laurent Spring/Summer 2014 top. Lip prints are everywhere lately, aren't they? They were all over Erin Fetherston Spring/Summer 2013 and appear in Kelly Wearstler's lastest designs.

Lips are all over Stella McCartney Resort 2014.

This lip print by Jessica Rowe has been popping up EVERYWHERE. The watercolor is based on a photo of supermodel Lara Stone and I am completely in love it.

Below are more photos from Rihanna's latest Vogue editorial. Which Rihanna Vogue cover is your favorite?

END OF AN ERA: LEITH'S LAST LULA

I'm probably the last to hear the sad news that Lula founder Leith Clark is leaving the magazine after issue 17. This is heartbreaking for me as I've spent most of my late teens and twenties obsessing over Lula's super dreamy editorials. The good news is she's starting a new project called Violet (which I'm guessing is another magazine).
Until Violet launches in Spring 2014, you can follow Leith on instagram. Her personal photos are just as magical and thoughtfully curated as every single issue of Lula. Also read this 2011 interview with Leith for Tavi Gevinson's blog. I love hearing the story of Lula's birth.
